Tablescape Thursday

Thanks to Susan, at Between Naps on the Porch, for hosting this event. I love getting ready for Thursday!

I set up a Mother's Day tea with the flowers I was given, so I decided to post these pictures instead of a tablescape. It was hard to me to do this week, because I have been painting walls and projects!

I am using the tea pot my husband gave me for my birthday...I was very happy with it, cause I usually get appliances!

I have collected several card table size hem-stitched tablecloths over the years. Before TV, I think people played cards, so there is a lot of this size out there.

This is my oversize english tea cup, made by Roy Kirkland. He makes very thin cups, but the are durable too. I put mine in the dishwasher and they are fine. I purchased this one at Marshall's. I have several different designs, even one with teddy bears.

Please visit Susan's blog to look at the other entries. There are so many creative tables that just have to get viewed! You can get some great ideas, especially if you are having some summer get-togethers!

This week has been hard to get a table together because I have been painting my urns and a desk. I'll post pictures soon. Thanks for stopping by,

Oh what a lovely teascape. It looks so pretty and so refreshing. How nice to have such a gorgeous teapot and teacup and they look so pretty with the flowers in the garden setting. Makes me want to sit and enjoy the world around me. Thanks for sharing. Hugs, Marty

Liz,

This is just a beautiful tablescape, so elegant and inviting! I would love to see more of your garden (once you are finished with your projects!! ;-)
The teacup is so pretty!

You know, I have a small tablecloth like yours. When I bought it, I thought it was the same circumference of my table, and it is. I thought I might try a new look. Bur the crocheted portion in the middle would not lie flat, so I have it stored away. You have given me some insight now on what it was meant for. Maybe I could try it on a bistro table since I don't have a card table!!

Thanks for sharing your tablescape and good luck with all of your projects!

xoxo
Jane

I have tablecloths that size from my bridge-playing days (which were usually followed by luncheons)! I love your teapot and am so happy it doesn't have a plug :)--That's the rule at my house: nothing with a plug!

Oh look at those treats! I'm stopping by your table for sure! :)

Hi Liz...I love this tablescape! Everything is sooo elegant! You are right about cards...but I hadn't thought of it. My mom had scads of special things she pulled out for bridge club! Funny! The teapot is gorgeous...good job to your DH! About the cat food....I didn't take any special food over. I just used French catfood. But we had a mad cow scare while I lived there and I ate no beef for 6 months. Unfortunately, cats can get it...not dogs for some reason! I lived in fear until I could get Ozzie back home. I had to stand in a special line with her at the airport coming back into the US and they took her French catfood...dried food. I said good riddance! However, they do sell American catfood there...Science Diet...at the vet. It's very expensive though and she didn't like it! I don't know about taking American catfood over, but it would be worth a try! Are you going? Hope you are having a great week!...hugs...Debbie

Thanks for stopping by and leaving such gracious comments on my TT. I had to laugh when you asked where I was storing all the dishes. I am running out of space is a huge hurry. It seems that all the "accessories" you need for a tablescape is what takes up all the room. I definitely need more. lol Thanks again. Hugs, Marty

Love the outdoor breezy feel of this one. Yeah, they must have played cards before TV. Wouldn't mind trading TV to eliminate the noise factor. Why do men pick appliances, I wonder?

Hello Liz - Okay first thing that caught my eye was that yummy chocolate muffin. But of course your beautiful teapot probably had something to do with it! I too have a couple of those Roy Kirkland tea/coffee cups. I use it everyday and just love it! Happy TT!
